The Challenge
Migration from Teamcenter Enterprise to Teamcenter UA TC 14.3 presented significant challenges due to changes in the database structure between versions. The source system contained anomalies requiring resolution before migration could proceed including duplicate items and revision IDs, case-insensitive item IDs causing conflicts, missing file references in volumes, missing user/roles/groups, and circular references in the Bill of Materials. ITAR-compliant data handling was maintained throughout all phases of the migration.
Our Solution
The team successfully migrated data from Teamcenter Enterprise to Teamcenter UA TC 14.3. All work was executed in off-business hours and completed over 2 weekends with 24×7 execution. Pre-defined mappings and data extraction methodologies were applied to generate the necessary input files for CSV2TCXML and Bulk Loader. An automated validation process reviewed importer logs, identified major issues during migration, and compared source and target databases to generate comprehensive validation reports. Iterative test migrations were performed to identify and resolve issues early. Tools & Methods: CSV2TCXML · Bulk Loader · Automated validation suite · Pre-defined TC Enterprise to TC UA mappings · 24×7 weekend execution.

The Challenge
Migrating from Teamcenter 12 on Oracle to Teamcenter UA 14.3 on MS SQL required a simultaneous version upgrade, database platform change, and full NX CAD dataset migration. Source data anomalies included: duplicate items and revision IDs, case-insensitive item IDs causing conflicts, missing file references in volumes, missing user/roles/groups, and circular references in the Bill of Materials. NX CAD specific challenges included multi-level assembly structures and parent-child relationships, broken links and missing volume files post-migration, duplicate JT file generation upon save, and Oracle and MS SQL database capacity monitoring during migration.
Our Solution
The team successfully migrated data from Teamcenter 12 Oracle DB to Teamcenter UA TC 14.3 MS SQL DB with NX CAD data migration. All work was executed in off-business hours and completed over 2 weekends with 24×7 execution. Pre-defined mappings and data extraction methodologies generated the necessary input files for CSV2TCXML and Bulk Loader. Automated validation compared source and target databases and generated comprehensive migration reports. Iterative test migrations resolved all issues before the production window. Post-migration support and validation reports were delivered following go-live. Tools & Methods: CSV2TCXML · Bulk Loader · Automated validation suite · Pre-defined TC-to-TC mappings · 24×7 weekend execution model.
Migration Footprint
| DATA TYPE | VOLUME |
|---|---|
| Custom Item Types | 100,000+ |
| Item Revisions | 280,000 |
| Datasets (incl. NX CAD) | 250,000+ |

| BOM Lines | 1 Million |
Project Outcomes
- Project delivered on time and on budget
- All project deliverables met to customer satisfaction
- Go-live was smooth with no issues related to data migration
- All work executed in off-business hours with zero operational disruption
- NX CAD data fully validated and accessible post-migration
- Post-validation reports and migration documentation delivered

The Challenge
Migrating from Oracle Agile PLM to Teamcenter is a cross-platform migration requiring complete remapping between two different PLM architectures, including full preservation of change management history. Source data anomalies included: duplicate items and revision IDs, case-insensitive item IDs causing conflicts, missing file references in volumes, missing user/roles/groups, and circular references in the Bill of Materials. Cross-platform complexity: Oracle Agile PLM and Teamcenter use fundamentally different data models. Every object class, attribute, and relationship required custom mapping including 25+ custom item revision attributes with no direct Teamcenter equivalent.
Our Solution
The team successfully migrated data from Oracle Agile PLM to Teamcenter 12.x MS SQL DB, including change management. All work was executed in off-business hours and completed over 2 weekends with 24×7 execution. Pre-defined out-of-the-box (OOTB) mappings for Oracle Agile PLM to Teamcenter were applied to generate input files for CSV2TCXML and Bulk Loader. Automated validation compared source and target databases and generated comprehensive migration reports. Iterative test migrations resolved all issues before the production execution window. Tools & Methods: CSV2TCXML · Bulk Loader · Automated validation suite · Pre-defined Oracle Agile PLM to TC OOTB mappings · 24×7 weekend execution.
